Refinishing a new house can sometimes be challenging.
Especially when the house is over 90 years old.
I bought the house in an old town that was settled in the 1700’s. A lot of houses in that community need updating. A flood occurred about 5 years ago and destroyed many of the homes in that area. People are still recovering and some have decided to sell their homes. I bought this home from a homeowner that decided not to redo his home after the flood. Therefore I bought it for a very cheap price and since I am very handy I wanted to make this old Victorian home a place to call my own. I went to the hardware store the other day to pick up some essentials. When I was walking through an aisle I saw a smart thermostat. It was small and versatile and digital. I never had a digital thermostat in my home before and I wanted to include this into my refinishing of the home. In my old house I had one that just had numbers on the side and I had to manual slide it up and down for the temperature. Not to mention I thought the smart thermostat would be very handy when it came to coming home from work everyday. When I’m about to come home from work I can control my thermostat through my smart phone. I believe it’ll also save me money. Instead of having my heating and cooling on all day I can turn it off when I’m leaving my house and turn it back on once I get home.
