Evacuated pets need special heat

I haven’t seen my sibling in over 2 years but my fantastic friend and I keep in touch, then she lives in the deep south plus I live just over the Mason-Dixon line.

My fantastic friend and I joke about that a lot, then well last week she called me plus asked if she could stay with me for a little while.

She said a genre 4 hurricane was headed her way plus expected to make landfall close to her village, but i said “yes” separate from a second thought! Then my sibling told me that, of course, she would be taking her pets with her. That gave me some pause, then of course I would take my pets if I was going to evacuate a major storm too but my sibling keeps snakes plus lizards as pets… Despite myself I said, “no problem”, however a few mornings later my sibling arrived with 3 snakes plus 2 rather big lizards. The pets were all in storage totes because she didn’t have a way to transfer all of their tanks plus heat lights. So that meant that the reptiles all needed some heat source so they would stay healthy. I already have the central heater on in the home but the reptiles need a lot more heat than us hot blooded people do. Thankfully my sibling brought a space heater with her. My fantastic friend and I ended up setting the reptiles up in the laundry room plus plugging in the space heater. The space heater has a thermostat so my sibling just set it to about 90 degrees plus the snakes plus lizards stayed pretty comfortable. I wasn’t too comfortable when I had to do laundry though, and not only was it sizzling despite the fact that I didn’t like being around my sibling’s pets.
