My fiance & I moved to the South last Springtime.
- At first, the weather was nice, and my fantastic friend and I only ran the heater or cooler a few times a morning; Both of us labor so we would leave the Heating & A/C system off during the morning while we were away.
But, as June approached, the weather heated up & it has started getting way too hot in the home when we leave the air conditioner off, and i consistently get home first so I am the one who would have to turn on the cooling system & wait for it to cool down. By the time he gets home, the home is halfway cooled down, he thinks we are saving energy & money by leaving the A/C off for our labor morning. I feel that the A/C has to labor way too hard when it is turned back on & that we should just turn it to about 76 degrees when we go away instead of turning it off completely. Now that it is warmer, we consistently debate about what is better. I have a big project at my labor next week so Bob will be the one getting home first. I suppose he will change his tune when he is the one to walk into the un-air conditioned home & when he has to wait for the cooling to start working & he hears how hard it has to work. I won’t say “I told you so” either. I’ll just smile & know we will be leaving the A/C on next time we both leave the house.
