My kids have been studying global warming in school this week. They are learning about the impact of everything we do on the planet and now they are determined to do everything we can around the house to save energy and reduce our carbon footprint. We started to recycle and make shorter showers. They also make sure that we aren’t using hot water unless it is absolutely necessary. They are also learning about how HVAC systems can really affect global warming and the negative impact that HVAC systems have on the environment. My kids think that we should get a brand new HVAC system so we can have a more environmentally friendly way to heat and cool our house. I know my kids are just trying to help save the planet, but I don’t think they realize how expensive it would be to have a brand new HVAC system installed in the house. I am all for supporting my kids when it comes to things like this, but I can’t just spend a few thousand dollars to get a new HVAC system. I am willing to turn the air conditioner off during the day while we aren’t home and I think that will help them feel better about our HVAC system. I will consider getting a new HVAC system once we have a little bit of time to save up for a more “green” model, but I can’t just spend all of our money right now.
