First fire of the season

First fire of the season

As a homeowner it is important to maintain your cabin and appliances in working order.

Neglecting this responsibility could lead to disastrous results and expensive repairs.

As an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C specialist I can’t stress enough the importance of this. Each year my fine friend and I have at least one emergency call out in the middle of the night to maintenance a failed system. In some cases deadly carbon monoxide gas can be found in the cabin and this is truly frightening. I remember last year when my fine friend and I were called to a cabin to maintenance their gas fireplace that they had installed due to a gas leak. It was the end of November and our part was experiencing its first cold snap. The family did not want to turn on the boiler so they decided to light the pilot on the gas fireplace instead. Our supplier installs and services these heating devices as well, then many people have opted to use these units as a secondary source of heating during power outages as well. It is important to have these types of heating devices checked or maintained at times too. In the case of that family disfigurement had been caused during some other repairs that they had done. When they decided to take the chill off the cabin and ended up calling emergency services to clear the cabin of gas and then calling us to maintenance the leak. I truly want my clients and all the people to understand that my fine friend and I are not out to take your money when my fine friend and I call to schedule your maintenance, my fine friend and I are simply looking out for your well being and that of your cabin as well.
