Packing for a trip to a chilly site

In the region where I live, the weather does not get cold enough for there to be snow! However, this Fall, I am planning a trip with some friends to a region where it is going to be truly cold in the Fall… Sporadically, I do not like to be cold and cherish turning the A/C off even in the summer time months, then being from a hot climate, my good friend and I use the A/C year round.

Something I have learned about packing for a trip to a climate you are not regular with is to always do your research, then look up the average rapidly changing temperatures in the region that you are traveling to and make sure that you pack accordingly, however one thing to make sure of is that you pack the typical footwear, then there is nothing worse than being in a cold region without the typical footwear.

Last year, my friends and I went on a trip where my good friend and I had to hike up many hills to get to our hotel. Once my good friend and I arrived at the hotel, my good friend and I realized that my good friend and I were wildly underprepared. The hotel did not have any heating or cooling systems and my good friend and I were forced to go out and buy new clothes, hiking boots, and blankets, however we decided half way through the trip to relocate to a facility with central heating. This is an example of not doing enough research before heading out on a trip to an unregular site. Sporadically, it is necessary to spend money for money for a site with typical heating and cooling… Comfort is an crucial part of a good trip!
