We recently celebrated my daughter’s 2nd birthday party at our new house. We invited 20 people and they all have small children. The party was a success but there was one thing that I forgot to do. During the party, I started to notice that it was getting really warm in the kitchen. That is when I realized that I had forgotten to lower the temperature on the thermostat. Instead of seeming like a amatuear party host, I decided that I would adjust the thermostat on my phone using the new smart thermostat we had installed. I had been opposed to the smart thermostat because I thought that it made people seem lazy. There is no reason people should not be able to walk to the thermostat to adjust the temperature of their home. But, after this incident, I realized that there were many uses for a smart thermostat and I was very happy to have had one installed. When I adjusted the thermostat, I noticed that people started to migrate into the kitchen as it was not as stuffy as it had previously been. The smart thermostat saved my daughters party and made me feel like there were going to be many more uses for this feature in the future.
