She’d save more money by letting the furnace run at one temperature
When I went to visit my sister’s house, I couldn’t believe how cold it was. I wasn’t expecting such low temperatures, and I felt really unprepared. My sister likes to save money every way she can, which includes keeping her furnace turned off or running at a low temperature. It didn’t surprise me how cold her house was considering the temperatures outside, because I knew she wouldn’t have her furnace running at a normal temperature. Thankfully, she agreed to increase the temperature by a few degrees when she noticed how cold I was. It didn’t take long for her house to warm up. After an hour, I started to get cold again. I asked my sister if the furnace was still running, and she told me it wasn’t. Apparently, she turned the furnace down when everything warmed up. She agreed to turn the furnace up a few degrees again, but I noticed that she switched the furnace off again after the house warmed up. Although it wasn’t my house, I thought this was really annoying. When I felt her home getting cold again, I told my sister that she needed to leave the furnace on and let it run consistently. Every time she turned it off and it got really cold, her furnace had to work extra hard to heat the entire home all over again. She’d save more money by letting the furnace run at one temperature. Of course, she refused to listen to me because she assumed I was wrong and she’d end up spending more money.
