I have lived in the same neighborhood for about 15 years now, and in those 15 years I’ve seen many people that have come and gone.
- So when our old neighbors sold their house and moved out and several months later another couple moved in I went to say hello.
I try to be welcoming and nice to all people because I like to get to know who lives next door to me. It’s actually through doing this that I really fostered some great friendships, and me and some of my neighbors hang out together often. After that first week when I went over to my neighbor’s house to say hi I noticed that there was a heating and cooling worker that was in their yard going in and out between the front yard and their backyard, obviously working on their heating and AC system of some kind. When I went over to my neighbor’s house she answered the door and I said I was just there to say hello and welcome over to the neighborhood and she seemed very friendly but then she immediately started bragging about her heating and air conditioning system. She pointed out the heating and cooling guy that had been working in the yard and said that he was installing her brand new HVAC unit. She then proceeded to brag quite loudly but it was one of the most expensive heated AC units you could possibly buy on the market, and in addition to having an entire new HVAC system she also had a smart thermostat in a whole home air purification system installed. My mouth practically dropped open as to how many thousands of dollars something like this, even just one of those units would be to the saw. She obviously was well off. I thought it would have been there but no, over the following week I saw her bragging to every one of our other neighbors. It did get old, it was becoming annoying, but apart from the bragging she seems like a nice person.
