My mom was really thrilled to be able to transfer closer to her grandbabies.
- She has been talking about moving near us ever since our oldest was born.
That was 5 years ago. I never thought she would really do it though. But, she did. I helped her find a home once it was clear she was really going to make the transfer this time. I found a nice little home only a mile from our house. The only thing I didn’t like was the heating system. It has an seasoned hydronic heater with radiant heat. I remember my seasoned school had those types of heaters. There were radiators in every class room & they got really hot. As my mom is getting older I felt that that sort of heat might be dangerous for her. What if she accidentally left a book on one of the radiators? So I was about to disregard that home until I found out that you can use the hydronic heater to heat radiant floors instead of radiators. It is still radiant heat but it is much safer. I talked to my mom about all of this & she was completely on board. She loves the little home even though she hates the flooring anyway. She is also not a huge fan of having huge radiators all throughout the house. She told me she has typically wanted heated flooring though. So I got in touch with a boiler company & they came out & installed the heated floor, my mom moves in in a week & my associate and I are all very gleeful for the move.
