Air Conditioning is Freezing Pet Lizard

Air Conditioning is Freezing Pet Lizard

My family recently got a pet bearded dragon! Spike is an adult & we got all his heat lights & UVB fixtures with him.

He is a charming addition to the family, however, the venue we set aside for him in the livingroom is simply not going to work… The Heating & A/C vent is right over that spot & it pipes chilly cold air right into his tank when the central air conditioner is on.

It is summer time right now so the air conditioner is on all the time & bad Spike is cold blooded. The first two afternoons, we tried closing the vent & letting the vents from the rest of the home cool the home office, however that didn’t work. The home office got entirely warm & uncomfortable. So we moved Spike to the middle of the hallway however his tank is big & takes up a lot of space & it is consistently in the way there. I am not sure what to do however we are not rehoming Spike again. He is part of the family now. I wonder how hard it is to move the Heating & A/C ventilation ducts in a house… Would the serviceman have to tear up the ceiling? I am tempted to call a air conditioner repair supplier however I fear I already know the answer & that it would be a lot of labor & money to do this. It might be easier to just certainly rearrange our home office so that Spike is out of the way & comfortable however so are we.
