Air Conditioning is Freezing Pet Lizard

Air Conditioning is Freezing Pet Lizard

My family recently got a pet bearded dragon.

Spike is an adult and we got all his heat lights and UVB fixtures with him.

He is a wonderful addition to the family, however, the place we set aside for him in the livingroom is simply not going to work. The HVAC vent is right over that spot and it pipes freezing cold air right into his tank when the central air conditioning is on. It is summer right now so the air conditioning is on all the time and poor Spike is cold blooded. The first two days, we tried closing the vent and letting the vents from the rest of the house cool the living room, but that didn’t work. The living room got very warm and uncomfortable. So we moved Spike to the middle of the hallway but his tank is huge and takes up a lot of space and it is constantly in the way there. I am not sure what to do but we are not rehoming Spike again. He is part of the family now. I wonder how hard it is to move the HVAC ventilation ducts in a house. Would the technician have to tear up the ceiling? I am tempted to call a air conditioning service company but I fear I already know the answer and that it would be a lot of work and money to do this. It might be easier to just entirely rearrange our living room so that Spike is out of the way and comfortable but so are we.
