Driving on icy roads with no heat

Driving on icy roads with no heat

When our child called and said that he was coming condo during his mid-winter time break, I was actually worried, and not only would he be driving on his own, but, he would need to make his way through the mountains and several times the roads can be almost impassable, but my associate and I found an app for his PC that would deliver his weather warnings along the route so at least he would be prepared if something was ahead.

My associate and I told his that if it was too bad, he should stop at a hotel along the way and wait out any storms.

My associate and I didn’t expect his to call and tell us he was stopping because the weather was holding. She called and said that he needed to take the car into a mechanic because he lost the Heating and A/C system in the middle of a mountain pass. Not only were the roads icing over but he was freezing as well. She knew that if he tried to keep going, he could get stranded someplace on the side of the road and have no way to stay warm. I didn’t even mind paying the hotel bill or the repair bill because at least he had used proper sense. The mechanic said that the main heat coil had broken and he needed to order the part. It would be there the following day. She stayed at a hotel with fantastic amenities and at least he had an Heating and A/C component in his room to keep his warm and cozy during his stay. It is consistently spine-chilling when your child is taking a long trip on their own and I am glad that this one turned out as it did.
