I cannot believe how expensive things can be now a days.
My husband and I decided a few years ago that we would really like to remodel our house.
We started saving up as much money as we could each year so that we could pay in only cash to remodel. After three years of saving, we were sure that we had plenty of money to spend on the remodel. Unfortunately, we did not realize how expensive things are today. The most expensive part about our renovation was adding heated flooring to our entire house. We were prepared to pay for the flooring itself, but the HVAC company that we had put it in ripped us off. We got quotes from four different companies, and we went with the company that promised us the best price. It was all good until the hidden fees started popping up. My husband and I counted over seven hidden fees that we were not ready to pay but ended up having to pay. We were very upset with that HVAC company, so we called and talked with the owner. He was nice and all, but all that he did was explain away the hidden fees. We ended up paying more than the highest quote we got of the four HVAC companies that we called in the beginning. We learned from our mistake, and we will make sure to do more research before trusting just any HVAC company again. Our house is done now, and we have heated floors throughout it which is very nice. I just wish it had not cost us so much money to get those wonderful, heated floors.
