Taking a warm shower on a cold winter morning is one of the small joys of my life. But, that joy is almost immediately dashed when I step out of the shower and onto my frigid tile floors. It’s a real jolt; it almost wakes me up more effectively than my morning coffee! My wife and I have discussed the possibility of installing heated floors. At first, my wife thought it was excessive, but I reminded her about the cold floors after leaving the shower on winter mornings, and she immediately changed her tune. I’ll never forget what she said: “What’s the point of using our furnace at night in the winter if the floors just make our feet cold?” We called and set up an appointment for a consultation with a local HVAC technician. The technician arrived at our home, assessed our current flooring situation, and asked us numerous questions about how we use our HVAC system during different times of the year. She told us that she really wanted to help us optimize our heating and cooling system, whether or not we chose to install heated floors. She gave us lots of great efficiency tips to reduce our heating and cooling costs, and even introduced us to a new feature on our thermostat. The HVAC technician was a lifesaver! While my wife and I are still discussing using heated floors in tandem with our existing heating system, we wouldn’t have even known where to start without the help of the HVAC technician. We’ve reached out to a few HVAC providers for quotes, and we’re leaning very heavily towards installing the heated floors. I’m ready to use our heating system to combat those cold morning floors!
