Without A/C, southern states would have a low population

I lived in the northeastern region of the country for the majority of my life.

I have lived in the southeastern region of the country for almost ten years.

Living in two different parts of the country has allowed me to experience different climates. When I lived up north, I experienced all four seasons. I relied heavily on my central heat because the winters were brutally cold. I often used the central heat during the fall as well. There were some spring seasons that were colder than others and even snowed. I would also use my central heat in the spring if necessary. During the summer, I did use central air conditioning but it was not always necessary. There were some beautiful, cool summer nights that allowed me to open the windows and rely on the breeze and my fan to keep me comfortable instead of the central air conditioning. Now that I live in the south, I have heavily relied on my central air conditioning. I use the air conditioning in the summer every single day. The heat and humidity are so severe that I would most likely pass out if I did not have central air conditioning in my home. I live in the northern part of my state, so we do experience a mild winter sometimes. I use my central heat sparingly during the winter months. Sometimes I can get away with not using the central heat. However, I use the air conditioning constantly in the summer, sometimes in the fall, and most days in the spring. I believe that if air conditioning did not exist, I would not be able to handle living in the south.
