Life as a photographer for an environmental magazine can be truly exciting. I am able to travel to amazing locations as well as see some of the most amazing things on the planet. It also means that I have seen some of the worst that the world has to offer… There are parts of the world that are barely hanging on as well as people live with conditions that are simply horrible, but here in the United States, several of us just think that the rest of the world is like our lives, this is entirely not the case. As I rest in my air conditioned apartment going over my current photos from my last trip I can’t help however feel like I live like a king. On my most recent assignment I travelled to South America to cover the swings that are happening there. The impact that Global warming is having there is causing storms as well as flooding like they have never experienced before. They already went struggle with lack of fresh water as well as electricity as well as this is making matters worse, then i can’t even take looking at the photos of what those people are going through. I would cherish to be in a position to deliver the basics to people in regions like that. Even the ability to have some sort of weather conditions control during the sweltering sizzling afternoons would be a welcomed relief. A cool locale to lay their heads at night would feel like a getaway resort to them. I will never again take for granted my Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C system as well as the ability to control the temperature in my home.
