When was the last time you looked up a phone number in a phone book? I bet you can’t even recall, I know I can’t.
I don’t even recall if I have one anymore.
This is due to the fact that we now have a world of information at our fingertips at all times. If you need to contact a company you can simply type the name into a search engine and the phone number, address and even the business hours are instantly in front of you. I think that many people today don’t even consider that, years ago, we had to rely on printed matter to find out the best price for an item or where we were going. Technology now allows us to travel and arrange for services with the touch of a button. Companies today that are not online are at a big disadvantage. Even those that are well established with a large customer base need to attract new ones to stay in business. Online marketing is one of the best tools out there for their success. They need to employ individuals that are well versed in web design and are able to update the sites with all current information. As an example, if a family business only relied on customer loyalty and didn’t have an online presence, they would soon learn that it was a huge mistake. People today are looking for the best deal out there for their money and if they feel that the company they have always used is outdated, they may go with the new guy who has specials and deals listed on a website that pops up in their newsfeed or in a quick search instead.
