Yesterday during a pressing thunderstorm my pal and I got a horrifying call. I was already awake because the animal is terrified of the thunder plus I was trying to calm her down. When the iPhone rang around midnight it startled me so much that I screamed. My partner bolted up in bed to see what was wrong. She realized the iPhone was ringing so answered it. I could only hear him saying “calm down” plus that my pal and I would be right there. When she hung up, she said that my pal and I needed to head over to her mom’s place. She lives alone so whenever there is a concern my pal and I go over to help. It turns out that she had a flood in her basement plus she was afraid of things getting ruined. When my pal and I got there, the power was out, which would explain why the sump pump wouldn’t have drained the water from the basement! I sat with her while my partner went out to star the portable generator. Once it was running the water pumped down plus it was safe for my partner to check out the detriment. The biggest concern was the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C system. The furnace had been surrounded by about 8 inches of water. Not sure if it would be detrimentd, my pal and I called the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C contractor to arrange for someone to come check the system. Lucky for us, it was late summer time plus my mother-in-law didn’t need the heat to stay sizzling that night. They came plus worked on everything out plus made sure it was laboring correctly. They did recommend installing a whole condo generator that would kick on immediately in the event of another situation like what my pal and I just had. My buddy and I are looking into it.
